Dry brushing is a daily massage with a stiff bristle brush. This technique has been around for centuries and is said to help with exfoliation, blood circulation, and may even improve the outward appearance of cellulite.
- May exfoliate the skin
- May stimulate the lymphatic system
- May help the body rid itself of toxins
- May increase blood circulation
- May help with digestion
- Moving the brush in a clockwise motion, start at your feet and work your way up your body, increasing pressure on thicker skin and decreasing pressure on thinner skin.
- When you are finished, take a shower and rinse the dead skin off of your body.
- Once out of the shower, apply moisturizer.
Dry brushing is a relaxing activity that has been around for hundreds of years. It not only helps exfoliate your skin, but improves the appearance of cellulite and increases blood circulation.
Do what works for you. For some this is a once per week activity, and for others it is everyday.
Redness or rash can occur when applying too hard.

- Be sure to rinse your dry brush after every use and air dry - preferably in a spot with sunlight so you can avoid the build up of mildew.
- Clean your brush with soap and water once a week.
- Do not share your brush with others.
- Move the brush in a clockwise motion when brushing your skin.
- Do not brush over the same area more than twice. Doing so can cause irritation
- Consult a doctor if you have skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema as dry brushing may do more bad than good.
