Why it works

  • The attention span has a limit, given the cognitive resources. For this reason, it is better to plan periods of focus and relax.
  • Each period of time allows us to reach a goal, so the level of stress decreases and the motivation increases.
  • Avoiding time-wasting behaviors increases productivity.

Tips

  • This technique is a little more flexible than the Pomodoro technique. The goal is to adapt to the tasks, not to the time.
  • Each task needs different "timeboxes," so don't worry. Set the time you think is necessary.
  • If you work for long periods of time, your breaks should also be longer.
  • Evaluate the results at the end to know how much progress you made on the task.
